How to use log programs in cPanel

This article describes the log programs available in cPanel for your website, the way to enable them, and the way to look at their information.

cPanel's log programs


Depending upon the sort of Servers Gate Hosting account that you have, cPanel offers up to three log programs for viewing site statistics:

1. Analog

2. AWStats

3. Webalizer

Each of these log programs displays various statistics for your website in several ways; which program you use is a matter of personal preference.

 

Choosing a logging program

 

Before you use a logging program to view site statistics, make sure the logging program is enabled in cPanel.

"When a logging program is enabled for the first time, it takes 48 hours for the server to complete initial log file processing."

 

To enable a logging program in the Paper Lantern cPanel theme, follow these steps:

Each of these log programs displays various statistics for your website in different ways; which program you use is a matter of personal preference.

1. Log in to cPanel.

2. In the METRICS section, click Metrics Editor.

3. On the Metrics Editor page, select the check box for the logging program that you want to use for your website. (You can choose more than one log program if you want .)

4. Click Save.

 

Analog

 

The Analog reporting program combines comprehensive coverage of web server statistics for your website.

To view Analog statistics, follow these steps:

1. Log in to cPanel.

2. In the METRICS section of the cPanel home screen, click Analog Stats.

3. Click the magnifying glass icon to view statistics for the domain that you want.

4. Click the month and year that you want to view.

Awstats

The Awstats reporting program combines comprehensive coverage of web server statistics for your website with attractive reporting pages.

To view Awstats statistics, follow these steps:

1. Log in to cPanel.

2. In the METRICS section of the cPanel home screen, click Awstats.

3. Click the magnifying glass icon to view statistics for the domain that you want. Select the month and year that you want to view, and then click OK.

 

Webalizer

The Webalizer reporting program combines comprehensive coverage of web server statistics for your website.

To view Webalizer statistics, follow these steps:

1. Log in to cPanel.

2. In the METRICS section of the cPanel home screen, click Webalizer.

3. Click the magnifying glass icon to view statistics for the domain that you want.
